Our Approach
(why we do what we do)
We’ve all been there. Listening to speaker after speaker talk at us about leadership presence, or stress management, or the core competencies of highly effective teams. We sit in audience-mode: half-listening, half-thinking about all the other things we could be doing. Even in focused moments, we grasp at ways to implement ideas from the presentation…only to have our plans evaporate before happy hour. Slides don’t stick, and growth potential is lost.
87% of millennials say that professional development and career growth is very important to them.¹ 70% of American employees are not working to their full potential due to a lack of engagement.² Companies pour billions upon billions of dollars into traditional learning methods each year…but lectures, slides, and worksheets just won’t cut it.
On Deck works with organizations to increase employee engagement through active learning opportunities. Our workshops move employees towards their potential by allowing them to build skills in situations that both mirror reality and support risk-taking, mistake-making, and growth. When concepts are embodied, they stick with us.
In a nutshell: why do we do what we do? Because we have developed programs that are both impactful and delightful – and we want to share them with the world. We aim to improve quality of life for all people who work with other people, which is 99.999% percent of us. We exist to connect, to empower, and to play.
On Deck is based in the Bay Area. We support clients around the country.
